Is it wise to have a wide-receiver that likes maple bars this much?
Police were called to Top Pot Doughnuts in Bellevue, Washington, at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday after two men were found entering the store after hours. Turns out new Seahawk Golden Tate just had a case of the munchies.
It seems Tate, who lives in the building above the shop, apparently came home in the wee hours and was overcome by the smell of freshly baked maple bars. It's been well-established that the man lacks all self-control. So he and his buddy just went in and took some. Too bad the store didn't open for another four hours.
I don't know what is more weird, Tate thinking its cool to enter a store after hours or Tate living about a bakery. You decide.

Walter Jones, the toughest guy named Walter ever
What do you say about this guy? After he announced he retirement, I felt a tinge of "hey hold on, so we wont get to make the joke about Walter Jones skipping training camp again?"
To his credit, he has a kidney condition that doesn't allow him to take painkillers that are stronger than say Tylenol. Wow. It takes a man to play football like that. And in 13 years of playing tackle for the Seahawks, he was called for holding just nine times. Are you kidding me?
Thank you Walter Jones, you may have the record for "offensive lineman I traded for the most when starting a franchise on Madden". I think Shaq would refer to you as a video game cheat code.
Here is some highlights of Jones. Check out the old school Seahawks jersey in this video too. Classic!

Happy Draft Day Seahawks fans!
Just so you can relive the past, check out this little story about Rick Mirer's rookie card.
The photo team at Pro Line was excited when Rick Mirer asked if he could bring his motorcycle to his shoot in 1993 — at least, until Mirer showed up. The rookie QB rolled into the studio's parking lot on the Harley he had purchased with his signing bonus, wearing the free Seahawks leather jacket that came with the bike, a pair of mom jeans, prescription round-lensed sunglasses and his football helmet. Knowing that a photo of any man dressed like this should never see the light of day, the Pro Line photographer did the only thing he could: He conducted the shoot inside a dark, windowless warehouse on the outskirts of the Emerald City.

LeRoy Hill: Model Citizen
At this point, I think we can officially say that LeRoy Hill has some off-the-field issues.
SEATTLE (AP)—Seattle Seahawks starting linebacker Leroy Hill(notes) was arrested for investigation of domestic violence in the Seattle suburb of Issaquah over the weekend, just days after reaching a plea deal on a marijuana charge in Georgia.
Hill was arrested by Issaquah police and booked into that city’s jail early Sunday for investigation of assault in the fourth degree/domestic violence.
According to a release from Issaquah police, officers responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute late Saturday night at the Hill residence. Officers determined there had been a dispute between Hill and his girlfriend.
Note to professional football players, when you get in trouble with the law, you shouldn't turn around and get in trouble with the law again. That causes issues. That means you have a reputation. But knowing the Seahawks, they'll probably make him team captain.

The Seahawks quarterback of the futue
Who will take the controls of the Seahawks offense once Matt Hasselbeck is done? Seneca is gone, so say hello to Charlie Whitehurst - the third string quarterback of the San Diego Chargers. Oh goody.
The Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers have completed a trade that sends third-string Chargers quarterback Charlie Whitehurst to Seattle for draft picks.
The Seahawks swapped the 40th pick in the second round with San Diego's 60th pick and also will send the Chargers a third-round pick in the 2011 draft.
...Whitehurst, a restricted free agent with third-round compensation, has had only four NFL snaps and has not thrown a pass in a regular-season game. The Clemson product signed his one-year restricted tender Wednesday, which facilitated the trade, after deciding he preferred to play in Seattle instead of Arizona.
Well anytime you can rest the entire hopes of a franchise on a guy that has four NFL snaps, you just gotta do it! Was Jim Sorgi not available?

Jim Mora Jr. is just building his resume
So what does a head coach do after he gets canned for a poor season at the helm of the Seattle Seahawks? He ends up coaching high school football.
After one year in his dream job -- head coach of the Seattle Seahawks -- longtime Pacific Northwest resident Jim Mora was dumped on the heels of a 5-11 season in which the team looked much worse than their record. There didn't seem to be a lot of buzz for Mora as the league's coaching carousel turned, and quite possibly for good reason -- he frequently looked overmatched and seemed to lack impulse control, which is a problem when you're dealing with 53 finely-tuned athletes at the height of the sport. Mora did some local radio, spent some time on the NFL Network crew, and now it seems that he's found another coaching job -- with Bellevue High School.
Strangely enough though, I'm sure Mora will find the offensive line situation much more favorable at Bellevue. And his backup quarterback is probably a whole lot better too.
